Welcome to 2009! I'm not sure that anybody even checks this blog anymore, but just in case you do...I've decided to share with you my goals for this year. I'm not really into making new year's resolutions, because it just seems like something you start off doing and then if you fall off the wagon you're just off, hanging out there, with no motivation to jump back on.
So, I'm more of goal setting kind of girl. My goals this year (in no order really) are as follows:
- Exercise regularly
- Find a church
- Spend more quality time with Ty
- Do 10 push-ups every day
Along with those goals are some sub-goals if you want to call them that, but those are my main ones. I have been a little broad in a couple of them (exercise & quality time) but I really do have more specific goals to go with those.
For exercise- I want to walk Bailey more and go to gym on a regular basis. For me, this means Bailey gets walked at least 3 times per week and I'm at the gym at least 2 times in a week. I would like for that to be 3, but with my total abandoning of the gym in November and December this past year...that scares me!
Quality time with Ty is hard for me to be specific on. As things have been, we spend time at home together, but involved in totally separate happenings. Some nights the only time we really are even in the same room is while we eat dinner- and at the rate that we eat- that only lasts for 10 minutes! Ty has this goal too, and that means that we'll both be trying to make this happen.
There is no explanation needed for the other two. Ty and I are going to have an open mind and find a church that we can get involved in. The push-up thing is just because I want to be ripped :). Happy New Year!

Sometimes it only one thing....
Or two.
I had one of those days today that it was just took one thing- one thing to make me irritable and snap at a student, one thing to make me stressed and wonder if I'm in the right job, one thing to make me grumble at the other car on the way home.
All those one things can make for a bad day- but then good things happen and it makes all those other things not seem so bad.
I sat down at my computer as soon as I got home- and it only took one thing to start the shift in my mood. Ty sent me an email that he received from a friend of friend asking to meet us to potentially use us for her upcoming wedding. Yay! I don't even need an actual booking to make me happy. The fact that the word is out and we are getting recommendations is enough for me!
And then it took two- two little snippets of good news to turn my frown and complaining completely around into jittery bounciness. The second happy piece of news I got from my oh-so-wonderful computer screen was that my mom is going to come see me in two weeks! I've been trying to talk her in to coming for a while, and I thought it was a lost cause. Not because my mom doesn't love to come to TX- but due to her ridiculously busy work schedule. Lucky me, she fit me in between all her other trips. My plans now for the weekend before Thanksgiving are set! Hang out with the Madre and celebrate her birthday. :)

Treat for Bailey!

Okay, it's been way too long since I've posted on here. I can't even try to do an update of everything that's been going on- so I'm not going to try.
We are pretty much back to all things normal- and part of that is spoiling our puppy! She is a huge fan of peanut butter. So, when we got to the bottom of the jar, we decided to let Bailey go after it for a few minutes. In this pic I think we captured her thinking, "This is too good to be not getting in trouble!" Doesn't she look guilty??

Ruiz-Martinez Wedding
Last weekend with the Buckleys, we shot a wedding for a friend that works with Chris and I. Their names are Dorothy and Mike. It was a very nice wedding at a pretty church over in Laporte, followed by the reception in downtown Houston. We had a great time and it was a good experience. We want to wish Dorothy and Mike the best. Here are a few pics from the day.

Summer Vacation!
I am truly fortunate this week. I am spending the week at the Sandestin resort with my family. It's my mom, dad, sister-in-law, nephew, and myself. Ty couldn't come with us- he had a business trip this week, and Bryan is still playing in the sandbox. :(
So far, we have had beautiful weather and been able to go out to beach each day. The beach is absolutely gorgeous, although there were some jelly fish issues today. We stayed pretty shallow this afternoon because there were schools of them swimming around. Do jelly fish swim in schools? I don't know, but there were lots.
More pictures will be coming, I promise!
